I keep one in my drawer where I bake. But I warm my metal mixing bowl also as I have a very cold kitchen. I poured my yeast in and the temp dropped like a rock. So out came the pad. But I admit I sometimes cheat and use Rhodes yeast rolls and then cut in half. Works but never tried the biscuit route.
