Swerve sweetener has a confectioners sugar, sugar free.

As far as I know Splenda doesn’t make a powdered sugar version. You could probably blend granulated Splenda in a blender to get a powdered sugar consistency though and use it in this recipe. There are other brands that do make zero calorie powdered sugar, like Swerve. Just keep in mind that if you use a sugar-free substitute it will affect the taste of the finished product.

Second time making these, they went down a storm, nice soft peppermint which goes so well with dark chocolate. Thank you.

Yes, as long as it’s food grade peppermint oil. It is stronger than peppermint extract though, so you will need to reduce the amount that you use.

These were a HUGE hit with my family and way better than the store bought! My melted chocolate was a little thick for coating so I added a little vegetable oil which did the trick without changing any flavor. Will definitely make again.

I think it would be fine to replace it with a creme de menthe extract! I’m not sure how much you would need, but I would start with less and just add more as needed.

Would substituting that for the peppermint work. If so, need to figure out the trade ratio. Thanks

I bought ghirardelli dark chocolate melting bits 10 oz bag at Walmart and it was enough for the entire batch of candy. I used Ghirardelli dark melting bits, melted them in the microwave and then kept them over heated water to keep the consistency good for dipping. I also bought dipping tools and that made it easier to get the candies dipped.
