Hi, Ellen! You can add 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract to the cookie dough. If you still want to add a topping, you could also melt some chocolate chips with some shortening and a little peppermint extract.

You could probably press a York peppermint patty on top, but I’m not sure that it would soften enough to spread on top of the cookies. You could also melt some chocolate chips with some shortening and a little peppermint extract and spread that on top.

I just want to ask what other mint’s I can use for the recipe as I can’t get any Andes mint’s not even on Amazon. Thanking you for your wonderful recipes.
