I haven’t tried it, so I’m really not sure. There are plenty of sugar-free dulce de leche recipes online though that may be better suited for you.

I just put the can unopened into a large pot with a lid slightly open. Moderately low boiling Just make sure the water is covered the can. 2 to 3 hours and then remove and cool it. That’s it and you’re done.

As long as the sweetened condensed milk will all fit in the dish and there’s still some room at the top, it should be fine. You may need to adjust the baking time though.

You just have to make sure the water is always covering the can connotes. That’s how I make my apple dip.

It’s twice cooked milk product and my can of sweetened milk only say’s to refrigerate after opening with no end date.
