This recipe is amazing. And sometimes I add a whole organic Orange and apple and it’s just as good.
Everybody here in Rome, Italy asks me for the recipe.

Mine did the same exact thing! I had to scrap one of the cakes and only do a single layer. Unfortunately the cake ended up incredibly dense, and I won’t be making it again. I made this for my baby’s 2nd birthday – she loved it and so did my dad.

Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe! I made this cake in a 9×13 pan (because I, of course, couldn’t find my 9” cake pans) and it turned out perfect! Because of a comment above I started the timer at 40 minutes and it was perfect! Thank you so much!! I’m excited to bring the cake to an Easter celebration tomorrow! ❤️

I ended up googling it & it said to continue to bake it. Which I did & it not work. I just think it should not of been baked in a 9×13 pan. FYI!

Hi, Nancy. I’m not sure how a toothpick inserted into the center would come out clean if the cake wasn’t fully baked through. The baking time I gave you was just a suggestion and will vary depending on your oven. Have you tested your oven with an oven thermometer to make sure it’s the right temperature? If so, then it sounds like the cake just needed to bake longer.

The only part that baked was the outer rim! Funny thing was I tested it with a toothpick & it came out clean! Baked it for at least 50 minutes. It was so sad to throw it away. At the last minute I had to make something else. All that work & ingredients down the drain.

Yes, I would keep it at 350°F.
