Love this recipe! Made the cake for my daughter’s birthday with a strawberry cream cheese frosting and got so so many compliments on the whole thing and also the cake part. My guests thought it was from a bakery. Going to be using it for cupcakes for friend’s kid’s birthday this weekend.

Thank you, Hellen! So glad you’re enjoying the recipes! I think a strawberry cake filling would go great with this recipe. I don’t have a recipe that I would recommend, but this one from Taste of Home looks like a good option. I hope that helps!

Just made this for the first time! (May 2024) It turned out beautifully. Delicious. I added 1/2 cup of colored sprinkles to the batter & it looked really cool! This will be my go-to white cake recipe from now on. I think I will also try making cupcakes with it.

I haven’t tried it, so it’s really hard to say. You could double the recipe and see if it makes enough batter. If it’s not enough, then you could make another batch. I’m not sure on baking time either, but I would guess maybe 20 to 25 minutes.

I made this today and WOW what a delicious cake.  This cake was very moist and had a tender crumb.  I followed the recipe as written.  I would definitely use this recipe again!

Moist, yes, heavy, yes. It shrunk so much that I made a different one. It was tasty, but I won’t make it again.
