In reply to Julia. The frosting should be okay to use under fondant as long as you crush the Oreos into fine crumbs. You just don't want any large chunks of cookies in the frosting.

I want to make this cake for my husband on his birthday and want to add some fondant details, can this oreo buttercream be used as a foundation for fondant or would you put the ganache between these two layers?

In reply to Emily. Hi, Emily! I would divide the batter between two 9-inch pans, the baking time will be about 28 to 30 minutes. Hope you enjoy the recipe!

I’m making this tomorrow and only have 9″ pans. Any recommendations on modifications for that size? Maybe two layers instead if three if necessary? Thanks! You’re my go to for recipes. Thanks for sharing your delicious ideas!

In reply to Kay. Yes, that would be fine! It will take about 35 to 40 minutes in a 9x13 pan. I would cut the frosting in half too.

Is it possible to make this in a 9×13 pan as a non layered cake?
