I haven’t tried it, but I think it would be fine to cook some frozen blackberries with a little sugar. If the mixture seems thin, you can mix a little cornstarch with some cold water and mix that in to help thicken it up.

Instead, I crushed a tablespoon of Sugar In The Raw in my mortar & pestle until it was very fine, then lightly sprinkled the turnovers after brushing on the egg. They were a big hit with everyone!
As for leftovers- I made a double batch and after they had cooled completely I simply placed them in the fridge in an airtight container. Family loved them straight out of the fridge the next day. Thanks for an easy, yummy recipe!

I haven’t tried freezing them, but I think it would be okay. Once they’ve cooled completely, I would wrap them individually with plastic wrap and store them in a freezer bag. You can thaw them overnight in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave.
