I used this USA muffin pan for this recipe, but I use this Calphalon pan a lot as well! I have a post with all of my favorite baking tools here too.

My 11 year old made these with supervision. We mixed apples and pears. It was so easy and turned out perfectly. I was nervous about not pre-cooking the apple after reading some of the comments but it was perfect (we cut the fruit into 1cm cubes).  Thanks for the recipe, we’ll be putting this on regular rotation.

As long as it’s one that substitutes 1:1 for all-purpose flour, I think it would be okay.

I would have to use gluten free. Would this recipe work the same with gluten free flour?

I followed your directions, except that I used a can of apple pie filling that I had on hand.  I mixed it with 3 fresh chopped apples without adding any spices.  The mini pies came out of the muffin tins easily and they taste great!   I will definitely do this again with all fresh apples.  Thank you for the recipe.

I haven’t, but I would follow the instructions on the packaging of your mini pie crusts or apple filling.

Put precut crusts in pan, bake first? and at what oven temp. Thank you. Barbara
